What’s next on the T20 World Cup? – Fun88

Media announced ICC Women's World Cup 2022 schedule recently. The final will be played April 3 in Christchurch. In addition, Basin Reserve in Wellington and Hagley Oval in Christchurch will host the fun88 login semi-finals and the latter will also host the final under lights on April 3, 2021.

On the other hand, an opening match at Tauranga's Bay Oval and a final under lights at Hagley Oval are two of the highlights of a 31-match schedule announced today for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022.

The pinnacle event in women's cricket will see 31 matches played over 31 action-packed days between March 4 and April 3, 2022, the first global women's cricket event to be played since the onlinecricketbetting Women's T20 World Cup in Australia in March.

This tournament was rescheduled from its original window in February-March 2021 with the same six host cities and venues held for this 2022. Eight of the world's top cricketing nations will face off in six host cities in Aotearoa: Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Highlights of the match schedule announced today include:

A one-off opening match in Tauranga with the WHITE HELECHES and a qualifier on Friday, March 4th. Tauranga also hosts a rematch of the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup final at Lord's with England taking on India on Wednesday, March 16th.

Dunedin's University Oval, the home of world superstar Suzie Bates, will host three group matches with reigning champions England, city favorites the WHITE FERNS and South Africa on show. Moreover, Hamilton's Seddon Park will host seven pool matches, with bitter rivals Australia and England kicking off the city matches. India and South Africa will take on the host nation's WHITE FERNS in Hamilton.

The iconic Basin Reserve will host a Trans-Tasman clash between Australia and New Zealand on Sunday, March 13, as well as five other pool matches and the tournament's first semifinal. Furthermore, a huge double-header weekend in Auckland will see India take on Australia on Saturday, March 19, before the WHITE FERNS take on England the following day.

On the other hand, Christchurch will host the final on April 3 under lights at Hagley Oval after three pool matches and a semi-final. The long-awaited Hagley Oval lights were switched on for the first time by Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Grant Robertson at the announcement, with key representatives from Canterbury Cricket Trust, Canterbury Cricket Association, and the City of Christchurch in attendance.

WHITE FERNS veteran and Canterbury Magicians representative Amy Satterthwaite attended the announcement at Hagley Oval. Satterthwaite said, "As a Cantabrigian born and bred, it's fantastic to see the Hagley Oval lights up and running. To play a World Cup on our own ground here in Christchurch, under the lights, would be a real highlight in our career.

It was hard to watch the Women's T20 World Cup from the sidelines in March (after giving birth in January), so seeing the fixture list for the ODI World Cup here in 2022 gives me and the rest of the team a target to strive for as we prepare over the next 16 months."

South Africa captain Dane van Niekerk says playing in a World Cup will be a memorable occasion: "Anytime you get the opportunity to play for your country and wear the Proteas on your jersey it's an honor (…).

I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity before to play in a Women's Cricket World Cup, but each new moment is more special than the last. Every young cricketer dream of playing for their country at the highest level, and we are definitely looking forward to CWC22 in New Zealand," Van Niekerk said.

Then, Mithali Raj, Indian captain also hopes to lead his team to a World Cup victory. She said: "We have all been through a very difficult year and we are happy to get back to playing the game we love.

India has been doing very well in ICC tournaments in the last three to four years, whether you talk about the World Cup (ODI) or the recently concluded T20 World Cup, and if we manage to win the tournament in 2022, it will be a massive inspiration for the next generation of girls as the fifty-plus format is considered the pinnacle for any cricketer. I can assure the team and I am looking forward to it."

Sports fans in the six host cities will get a taste of WHITE FERNS action with key clashes taking place in each city. The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022 will be the first of two major cricket tournaments around the world in 2022; the other will be the Commonwealth Games in England. Prize money for the international women's cricket masterpiece will total NZD$5.5 million and all matches will be broadcast live to a large global audience.

New Zealand, Australia, England, South Africa and India have qualified for the World Cup. The remaining three teams will emerge from the ICC qualifying tournament, which is confirmed to take place from June 26 to July 10, 2021 in Sri Lanka. The eight-team round-robin format will see all teams play each other, with the top four teams qualifying for the semi-finals.
